What’s in it for you
We are looking for our next committed and collaborative colleague who is eager to join us as Shop Manager Mega Casting, member of our Plant Management Team, and has responsibility to be part of starting up a complete new Volvo Car Plant in Kosice, Slovakia (VCK).
As Shop Manager for Mega Casting, you will have the opportunity be part of establishing the new Shop and support the recruitment of your new team. In close collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, develop and secure the best available techniques, develop the new manufacturing processes and standards. Strategic work, Personal and Organizational planning will be a part of our daily work. Your focus is to ensure shop readiness.

What you will do
You will initially be a part of the Mega Casting Project team, responsible to drive the development of the future Mega Casting organization as well as leading the launch of Casted components. In your daily work you will recruit, learn, coach, train, and develop people and alongside support/provide teams with prerequisites to achieve priorities and targets.
As Shop Manager for the Mega Casting Plant, you will create clarity by guiding and inspiring people through purpose, showing commitment by taking ownership and acting with integrity and trust and empowering teams by ensuring accountability and coaching for success.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe you are a person with a relevant university degree and a long-term experience as a leader within Production. Experience of Foundry, Machining and Casting processes is preferable. You have a passion for cars and technology, and you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Slovakian language skills will be a clear merit.
The position is located in Kosice, Slovakia. You also need to have the flexibility to travel.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have significant leadership experience from a formal managerial position, the ability to both lead and motivate employees together with extended knowledge in methods, tools, processes, production systems and ways of working in a factory.
For us it is essential that you are curious and always willing to learn more, continuously striving for robust and high performing processes and organizations.
You are a strong believer in the power of people, and you hold a strategical mindset with an ambition to develop future business with a holistic view. Strong communication and collaboration skills are characteristics of yours, making it easy for you to build confidence and trust at all levels in the organization.
