The Asset Creation Team- let’s introduce ourselves
The Asset Creation team is responsible for planning, purchasing and producing our creative assets used in global campaigns and for the web. Our team consists of Art Buyers, Art Directors, Copywriters, and Digital Content Lead.
Willingness to continually learn, having an open mind, and being able to align with our shared objectives are vital. You will collaborate with various teams to execute on briefs and ensure top quality production. The production of the creative assets is always a team effort. Social skills and a collaborative mindset are a must.
Art Director - this is what you’ll do
We are looking for an experienced Art Director who can make a creative concept and framework come alive through our marketing campaigns. We are changing the way traditional asset creation is being done through an hybrid operating model that incorporate both partners and in-housed expertise within creativity and asset development. You will therefore collaborate with various teams to execute and ensure top quality results.
Your ability to collaborate is truly the key, and you will work on a daily basis with both internal teams across multiple departments within Volvo and external teams at agencies, design studios, and production companies. In your daily work you will especially work closely together with our Content Studio team who will execute on creating all the assets needed for our marketing activations. As our Art Director, you love the craft and have an eye for the details.
You understand how to adopt an idea to work in distributing platforms, always with an effort to create unique campaigns, content, assets, and experiences with a target audience in mind.
Most of time you will work in close collaboration with a supplier and steering their work in our desired direction, but sometimes you also work hands-on in our deliveries. Therefore you need to have a deep understanding of concepts, photo- and film production, motion/graphic design, and experiential design. You are experienced in working with direct to consumer content and used to work throughout the full customer journey with a clear understanding the different aspects of content needs. You will be the advocate for the consumer and ensure the content we create is fit for objective/targets and purpose. You´re used to work with creative concepts, with a clear purpose driven direction and targets and KPIs to ensure success on a content metrics level. To succeed as an Art Director at Volvo, you should be a creative, pragmatic and a communicative multitasker and manage to take work from concept to final execution within set deadlines and budgets.
Further descriptions of responsibilities:
• Derived from a creative framework, generate clear ideas and concepts in tandem with the copywriter & graphical designer to execute from idea to campaign
• Regularly briefing partners and being able to clearly formulate an idea into a concrete execution plan
• Execute creative productions with relevant stakeholders within set timeframe and budget
• Take lead in scoping out new ways of working for art direction and execution within marketing
• Producing sketches, collaborating on storyboards and art layouts based on creative briefs and brand concept work with a modular approach for iterating various ideas.
• Present completed and packaged ideas to team members and project managers and relevant stakeholders
• Align your status towards the creative framework through the Creative/performance review forum and find efficient ways to adapt based on feedback when needed
• Learn, share and apply creative best practices with stakeholders across our organization
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 year working experience from an ad agency, design agency or similar role at a client, including experience of budget planning
• You demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and have proven experience from working in complex, international, large-scale, time-critical projects
• You have a deep understanding of marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience scopes across creative and media
• Experience within animation/motion design
• Experienced within online marketing and media landscape to ensure content performance
• Experiences working with performance metrics for content and content evaluation
