Tightness is a function within Volvo Cars with specialty knowledge with Water Tightness/Freeze/Condensation. The scope for the section is to support the different departments with expertise and perform the verification/validation to secure cars with zero defect related to water tightness through CFD in earlier face of the project and by also performing physical test in order to support in problem solving and identifying / validating best solutions.

As a CFD Engineer you will work within Tightness group that has overall objective to secure analysis and verification activities in vehicle development projects.

Do you have a strong passionate feeling for cars, and methods to develop them and would like to work together with a group sharing the same interest? You are interested in both physical testing as virtual and always strive after correlation in all you do, if so, you can serve as a CFD Engineer.

What you’ll do

· Leading the water tightness simulations

· Develop new test methods from our physical testing to virtual

· Specify and order physical and virtual test objects

· Lead verification task and be responsible for a project’s verification

· Join and learn from physical testing – correlate your calculations

· Opportunity to learn complete vehicle verification/simulations

What we offer

· You will have the opportunity to attend winter/summer expeditions, up on north of Sweden, and supporting both tightness as clearance testing on the vehicles.

· Join benchmarking and positioning our products towards other key players in automotive industry.

· We are looking for a motivated Engineer, with good communication skills and that can support different tasks in the same period.

· We are welcoming you in the international and dynamic team of engineers, with open mind-set and willingness to ensure good products

· We offer education in CFD tools like Preonlab, Elsyca, StarCCM from external company and internal

Do you fit the profile?

· University degree in Engineering or similar corresponding knowledge obtained by practical experience.

· Good knowledge in CATIA, TEAMCENTER Knowledge about Star CCM template generation, scripting in Python, Java or VB.net,Tce and Catia

· Good knowledge from the overall product development process from automotive working methods, planning, analysis & verification.

· Proven experience of working with CFD related questions

· Fluent in English (written and spoken).

· Driving license level B.

Merits

· Fluent in Swedish (written and spoken)

· Driving license level B.

· Experience from Volvo Cars is meritorious.

· Knowledge within Elsyca, STAR CCM, Preonlab
