The team Function & Control is responsible for development of all seat functions at Volvo Cars. We design, develop, and deliver software and mechanical functionality and design, for both our inhouse and the supplier part of the control modules. We now look for our next SW Responsible Function & Control!
 
You and your skills
We are now looking for an engineer with experience within development of Electronic Control Units in automotive industry and with strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills. You are someone who can manage tasks independently and manage cross functional contacts. You are a problem solver with a pragramatic solution oriented approach towards tasks.
 
Your main responsibilities

•    Understand and communicate the requirements with suppliers, clarify their questions and reach out to specialist for detailed technical topics.
•    Assess impact of requirement changes, plan the supplier software deliveries, and align the same with internal and external dependencies & stakeholders.
•    Plan and drive software joint reviews, software delivery reviews & test activities according to the project plan.

•    Review the documentation from supplier together with SWQA engineer and document the results in appropriate forums.

•    Familiar with requirement engineering, generate ECU extracts and share them with the suppliers and make sure the deliveries are on time. 
•    Follow up fault report status with suppliers and report progress to stakeholders and coordinate the actions with the team.
 
Requirements:
 Essential
•    BS or MS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic or related engineering field.
•    Minimum five years’ experience in Software Development in preferably automotive domain for electrical/electronic components.
•    Automotive ECU technical knowledge and previous experience of component ownership in OEMs or SW module ownership in automotive supplier companies.
•    Basic Knowledge in Networking protocols such as CAN/LIN etc.
•    Basic Competency in AUTOSAR OR ISO 26262 
•    Basic Knowledge working with Bus simulations tools such as CANoe/CANalyser or equivalent
•    Familiar with requirement management tools such as Doors, Elektra or equivalent
•    Basic knowledge of programming in Embedded C or similar language
•    Basic knowledge about diagnostics & associated ISO standards
•    Basic knowledge working with CAN/LIN ECU extracts and signals
•    Basic Knowledge of Configuration Management/Version management
•    Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
 
Meritorious:
•    Competency in Model Based Development (Simulink) or C/C++ programing 
•    UML Modelling using Enterprise Architect/Rhapsody
•    Experience working with CAN/LIN ECU extracts and signals
•    ASPICE knowledge

As a person you are meticulous, structured a with good documentation skills.Further, you are a great communicator comfortable speaking in front of other people, fluent in English, and able to create visual communication with a clear direction or message.
