The business & Sustainability field is quickly changing. Extensive regional and national legal requirements on companies to implement an effective Sustainability Due Diligence program and to transparently communicate on identified risks and progress, is being introduced. The Procurement and Supply Chain team in Volvo Cars is on a journey to increase our efforts to identify, assess, cease, prevent, mitigate and remediate Sustainability risks and violations in our supply chain.

 

What’s in it for you?
As Human Rights Due Diligence Expert, you will be part of the Procurement & Supply Chain sustainability team that is responsible for shaping the global Procurement & Supply Chain sustainability strategy and to guide its implementation by raising the ambition level in line with decided strategies.  You will be a key contributor in bringing our human rights due diligence processes into life within our supply chain.

 

What you will do

 

  • Monitoring the human rights and wider sustainability risk landscape with the purpose to identify and assess risks related to Volvo Cars supply chain
  • Developing plans to address identified risks and potential impacts by consolidating input from various internal and external sources
  • Follow-up of corrective action plans including remediation plans and track the effectiveness of our due diligence measurements   
  • Engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, such as internal cross functional human rights team, buyers, suppliers and potential affected rightsholders. 
  • Support to category management teams and other relevant roles, including trainings and being the subject matter expert of due diligence
  • Maintaining and updating of supply chain mapping and due diligence data
  • Consolidation and reporting of assessed and addressed risks and impacts

 

Your role will also include to suggest and implement improvements into the overall Procurement & Supply Chain Sustainability strategy and due diligence process. You will work closely with the rest of the team, other Sustainability teams within the company and contribute towards our sustainability goals, targets, roadmaps and action plans.

 

Wile the role has a main focus on Human Rights Due Diligence, there will also be influences and work involved to include also due diligence on the entire spectrum of Sustainability, including Climate Change and Circular Economy.

 

You will report to the Head of Sustainability Procurement & Supply Chain.

 

What you will bring

The most important thing is your passion and your belief in making this world a better place!

But we believe you have a university degree in a relevant area, and more than five years relevant work experience. Knowledge about due diligence and Human Rights considerations and frameworks is needed and ideally experience from the automotive industry and what it is like to work in Procurement or a supply chain related role. 

You come to work each day eager to learn new things, including both Human Rights and Sustainability but also business related topics. 

You believe in yourself and can work and deliver without constant supervision, but you enjoy great teamwork since you are a collaborator who builds trust!

In this role, you will handle many cases and priorities in parallel, and you will need a structured and systematic mindset. Your structure will also help you to be able to shift gear and re-prioritize with short notice in a growing environment.

You are not afraid of taking decisions even if you as well make sure to stay aligned with the rest of the team and other involved parts.

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and aptitude for creating engagement within our organization.
