About us
Vehicle Tophat is one of five development units within Research & Development at Volvo cars. Vehicle Tophat develops interior and exterior solution/systems. This position is placed in Gothenburg Sweden but the Unit is located both in Gothenburg and Shanghai

Software Integration & Release is an enabling department with the purpose to build the SW Continues Integration flow within the Vehicle Tophat unit. We provide skills within SW testing, HIL rigs, SW integration and SW release flow.

What´s in it for you

You will be the SW integration leader within Vehicle Tophat and keep track and lead the SW merge into our main SW flow. The need of integration merge requests are increasing for several releases and products. You will make sure the testing required is done and that the change is in line with the program agreed product content and risks. In this work you will build a large contact network within R&D. And, you will be a part of the department mgmt. team reporting directly to the head of the department.

What you will do
SW Merge

Guide the SW teams within Vehicle Tophat in the SW integration to the main SW flow. Keep track of the SW merge request. Work with priorities and risks together with the program. Make sure that testing that is needed have been done. Work closely with the SW release manager to secure branched SW quality. Support the Unit Program Manager with status for program reports. Be the interface to central integration team for Vehicle Tophat.

SW testing

Develop test plans together with product teams, including test objectives, scope, schedule. Support the teams to create and maintain automated test cases and test scripts that cover all aspects of the software's functionality, safety, and performance.

Ensure that the function teams oversee the execution of tests and monitor results in CI. Ensure that the product teams generate test reports and track defects, ensuring that identified issues are properly addressed and resolved including fault slip analysis.

What you will bring
We believe that you with you leadership experience with integrity, trust and positive attitude to create a positive working environment. You create clarity, you coach and you give the prerequisites for teams ensuring strong accountability. 

We believe you have experience from SW integration and continues Integration processes in earlier positions.

We see that you have an engineering background, university degree or equivalent experience in the concerned area as well as documented leadership skills. Experience of automotive engineering is important. Understand the Volvo Product Development processes is beneficial. Fluent in English written and spoken.
