What you’ll do
Our purpose at Volvo Cars is to give people the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable, and safe manner. Built-in quality is crucial in development of our products considering the increased use of SW and Electronic control in mechatronic systems, enabling Autonomous and Electric Drive. 
We have an ambitious growth plan to reach 50% of the in-vehicle software developed in-house by 2025. This target emphasizes the need of integrated processes, methods, and tools for in-house as well as supplier- developed products. To support our ambition, we are now looking for a Technical Expert in Software Quality at the Engineering Office within Software Engineering Unit.
You will be part of a team which gathers competence and responsibilities within Software Engineering Process/Methods/Tools and Software Quality. The team is global, i.e., it embraces establishment and maintenance of the relevant development processes and tools for the entire Research and Development (R&D) at Volvo Cars.
You shall give a major contribution to the entire R&D in creating and maintaining the long-term strategy, roadmap, and technical insight within software quality, formulate and initiate method development, establish software quality measures and key performance indicators to ensure Volvo Cars adherence to state-of-the-art.

 

What you‘ll bring

You have a customer focus and understands future trends. You provide an important contribution in populating the short- and long-term strategy for built-in quality within software development.
You have contributed to development of advanced technologies and/or processes and have senior experience in one or more of the functional areas within automotive (body, chassis, powertrain, calibration, etc.) in all development phases (from concept to industrialization), gaining deep knowledge in software engineering.
You are a true leader with demonstrated initiative and capability to guide, coach and mentor other experts, management, and development teams within software quality, securing knowledge sharing across the entire company.
As you will work across teams, a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
You own a MSc in a relevant area (mechatronics, computer science, software engineering, etc.) and meritorious if you have higher education (licentiate or doctoral degree). 
You have a record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals, conference papers, education material and has a recognition within external network academical and industrial network and are willing and comfortable to participate in research committees, international conferences, and lectures as a guest speaker.
