What’s in it for you?
The Hardware and mechatronics department within the R&D unit Connected Experience develop Infotainment, Connectivity, and Cloud platform hardware to enable world-class digital user experience.
The department consists of four (4) different teams, Audio System, Infotainment Hardware, Wireless Hardware & Communication and Tuner, Antennas & Mechanical Integration.
We develop, integrate, and verify hardware and software and lead our suppliers through product development.
You will be part of the department management team and work with the teams, Department Management, Architects, Technology Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure program execution and strategy alignment.

What you’ll do
You will be the driver and lead the Department deliverables and releases. You are the department's main interface to our stakeholders like Unit Program Manager and the Vehicle programs, with regards to program deliveries. You will create and maintain execution/ release plans, report the status of your scope, and support the engineers by managing risks, removing impediments, and helping them grow.
The teams’ tasks span all the way from early research projects, and concept studies to rolling out large-scale and high-quality products. You will work with teams across the company, across the globe, across many different functions and external companies.
You and your skills
We are looking for an experienced hardware mechatronic engineering Program Manager, who has previously led programs and engineering teams to reach a common goal. Ability to lead with integrity and a high focus on product quality and cost.
To succeed in this role, it is a clear advantage to have project experience in the automotive industry. Technical project leadership, cross-functional planning ability, and basic understanding of electronic infotainment hardware development and software system design, e.g. infotainment Head units, Radio, Audio, Telematic modules, Driver Information Modules (DIM), and Antennas.
You probably have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Strong people management, collaboration, and transparent communication skills are essential when working in a diverse and international setting. It is also important that you are continuously developing your own skills and guiding the teams to continuously develop.
Broad experience and organizational knowledge from Volvo Cars R&D and Volvo Product Development System are meritorious.
