Junior SW developer & Program Coordinator for Data Collection System

Software engineering is an increasingly critical area in the automotive industry. Volvo Cars is bringing more of the software development in-house to better handle continuous integration and the complex interactions between divergent functions. Connectivity is an enabler for most vehicle functions, including diagnostics and data collection, but also introduces privacy and cybersecurity risks that need to be managed through innovative and robust designs.
In the Data Hub department, we put high quality vehicle data at the fingertips of engineers to understand our customers and improve our products. We are growing and we are therefore now looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking.
What do we do?
Our department is developing a solution that will allow/enable Volvo to collect data from customer vehicles in a sustainable, personal, and safe way. We create measurement assignments to collect data from ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) in the car. We have responsibilities in Data Collection System Product Function, Product Capability and Customer Function in our department.

What will you do?
In your role as a junior SW developer & program coordinator, you are a member of an agile development team which is responsible for implementing and maintaining our product according to priorities set by the product owner. You are expected to regularly discuss with various Product Owners about their feature growth plans and introduction timeline to be able to set up to meet the car program releases.
You should be able to transform customer requirements into technical specifications and have the capability to make test case scenarios when needed. You collaborate with the team and the stakeholders in defining requirements and maintaining the required system, i.e. SystemWeaver.
You are part of all forums and discussions around the information model way of working with the central team and inform relevant function owners within our organization. You ensure correct structure of our SW components in the system. You are the gatekeeper in our Program SW release plan. You ensure relevant verdicts and documents SW component structure is up to date.
Who you will bring?
You have a University Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and/or Software Engineering or similar relevant experience or equivalent experience from the automotive industry, including solid knowledge in software development, testing, test strategies and quality assurance. You have experience of working with integration-driven development, how to grow functionality and evolve systems in a complex electrical system. You need to have some foundational SW development experience, preferably from the automotive industry. You should have good knowledge in Python, C/C++, or Golang programming. You have some experience in some protocols used in Automotive industry like UDS, CAN and Flexray.
You are proactive with a go get attitude, a team player that believes in the power of teams working together and in team collaboration, a problem solver, and a flexible team player. You will get a lot of freedom to be creative and the teams are self-empowered but with great power comes great responsibility, we must deliver!
You need to be skilled with high analytical and problem-solving skills. You should have SW development background and experience from the automotive industry. You have strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management. You are good at communication and coordination.
