Are you passionate about using data and insights to drive profitability? Do you want to help shape how we manage operations and people costs across a large and growing business? Espresso House Group is looking for a Business Controller with a focus on Operations to join our FP&A team.

About the role

As a Business Controller focusing on Operations and People, you will play a key role in analyzing our profit and loss statement from shop level to country and group level. You will support decision making by providing data-driven insights, particularly within personnel costs and other operating expenses.

You will collaborate across five countries and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including operations and people leaders. A core part of your role will be to prepare materials for performance review forums and to challenge leaders in driving efficiency and results. You will also contribute to budgeting and forecasting from an operational perspective.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, analytical and passionate about building strong financial foundations that support a great guest experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide proactive insights and transparency to support data-driven decision making
• Prepare and maintain monthly financial reporting materials for operations and other stakeholders
• Lead preparation of materials and discussion points for meetings where results are reviewed
• Drive deep understanding of cost drivers and areas for operational improvement
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis related to: Personnel costs and scheduling, other operating expenses, EBITDA at shop, country and group level
• Work closely with operations departments across different countries to provide financial support and guidance
• Support and challenge leaders across operations and people functions
• Apply a questioning mindset and drive results through clear analysis

What we are looking for:

• Academic degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a similar field
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Fluent in English and at least one Nordic language
• A person who can both support and challenge leaders in decision making forums
• Experience in handling large data sets and delivering insights from an operational perspective
• Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office tools
• A structured and organized approach to work
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally

It is considered a plus if you have:

• Experience working in a similar type of organization or industry, such as retail or multi-site operations
• Experience working with Qlik Sense or other business intelligence tools
