The purpose of the E-commerce Product Owner role is to own, develop, and continuously evolve Kjell & Company’s e-commerce platform in line with the company’s overall business strategy, customer experience ambitions, and commercial targets.
The role has end-to-end responsibility for the website as a product and acts as the primary stakeholder for what should be developed, improved, or changed on the platform. Working closely with E-commerce Manager, the E-commerce Product Owner ensures that development efforts drive measurable customer value, support omnichannel growth, and contribute to budget and performance targets.
In this role, you will report to the E-commerce Manager.
Assignment
The E-commerce Product Owner is responsible for driving the e-commerce platform forward from both a customer experience and business perspective. Key responsibilities include:

Own the e-commerce website as a product, with responsibility for its continuous development, performance, and user experience

Act as the main stakeholder for web development, defining what changes and improvements are needed on the platform

Translate business goals, customer insights, and user experience principles into concrete functional requirements

Manage and prioritize the product backlog based on customer value, business impact, strategic alignment, and budget constraints

Drive development initiatives together with internal and external development teams, ensuring clear scope, priorities, and expectations

Plan, execute, and evaluate A/B tests and other experiments to improve conversion, usability, and overall customer experience

Analyze website performance using data and insights (e.g. Conversion rate, funnel performance, customer behavior) to identify improvement opportunities

Collaborate closely with E-commerce Manager to align roadmap, priorities, and initiatives with overall e-commerce strategy and targets

Work closely with stakeholders across the organization (e.g. Marketing, category management, IT, customer service, and logistics) to collect, assess, and prioritize improvement requests

Balance input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining clear ownership of the website and its development direction

Ensure that development initiatives support Kjell & Company’s omnichannel offering and customer journey across online and physical stores
Competences and Skills

Strong product ownership and decision-making capability, with the confidence to act as owner of the website and its development

Strong understanding of e-commerce, customer journeys, and conversion optimization

Ability to connect user experience improvements with commercial outcomes and business goals

Highly analytical mindset with the ability to use data to support prioritization and decision-making

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align different interests and drive consensus

Clear and structured communication skills, especially when working with development teams

Experience working in agile development environments

Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable taking responsibility in a complex organization
Requirements

Proven experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role within e-commerce or digital platforms

Experience owning and developing a customer-facing website or digital product
-
Solid understanding of UX, CRO, and experimentation methods such as A/B testing

Experience working with analytics tools and data-driven optimization
-
Ability to define and document functional requirements and user stories

Experience working with multiple stakeholders across an organization

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Experience from retail, omnichannel, or consumer-facing e-commerce is considered a strong advantage
