We at Matas Group are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Analytics team, working across the entire development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation. You will play a key role in shaping our new data platform, as well as providing technical guidance and sharing knowledge about design and processes with our more junior BI developers.

In this role, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization and take significant responsibility for translating business requirements into technical solutions. We are working towards becoming even more data-driven and are investing heavily in AI. You will work with complex data models and large datasets, for example from our membership club, stores, and e-commerce.

About You

We are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. We also expect you to hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

In addition, we are looking for someone with:

• Experience with Databricks
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience developing and maintaining robust, scalable data platforms and ETL pipelines
• Experience designing, building, and optimizing data warehouses and data marts to support business decision-making
• A problem-solving and analytical mindset
• Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams

Experience with Power BI, Azure, and Synapse is considered an advantage.
