Government Affairs ensures that the interest of the company is represented and developed in all dealings with politicians, regulators and industry associations. We anticipate, influence and shape automotive and industry policies in line with our corporate strategy, while protecting the company against negative political narratives. We also contribute to build the image of Volvo Cars as a company leading the revolution in the auto industry and simultaneously generating long term sustainable growth.

 

We operate with a vast network of political contacts and through other key influencers. With offices in Brussels and Washington DC and in close collaboration with Geely Holding in Beijing China, we focus our activities on our main markets.

 

Placed in Stockholm, Kungsträdgården, and reporting to the Head of Government Affairs in Göteborg, we are now looking for a strong candidate, who´s main task is to lead government affairs for Sweden.

 

What you will do

  • Shape future automotive and industry directives, regulations, policies and funding schemes to the benefit of Volvo Car’s business by direct and indirect lobbying activities
  • Address selected EU policy matters to representatives of the Swedish Government
  • Seek and establish public funding in areas such as research, product development, HR and manufacturing
  • Develop and maintain a relevant network of policymakers and other key contacts

 

Desired skills and experience

We see that you are a person with at least 10 years of experience from various positions in the, preferably, automotive industry thereby having a good understanding of its business. You are result driven, team oriented and a socially skilled networker that are great at building relationsships.

 

  • Understanding of and experience from the Swedish political environment
  • Relevant university degree on masters level within economy, law or engineering
  • Excellent command of the Swedish and English languages – verbally and in writing
