The objective of Ericsson Research Area Security is to provide Ericsson business and development units with security competence, architectures, and solutions for platforms, networks, and services. Our research covers everything from pure cryptography, secure networking, service layer and application security, identity management and privacy to methods for development and evaluation of security systems and software security. Our focus is on new concepts and methods, patents, and standardization.

Job description

 The tasks will be related to research in software security. Examples of research tasks are to study and develop methods and tools for security in software development, security aspects in virtualization, operating systems security, and formal analysis and verification of software. The work may also include participation in international standardization efforts. We strive to develop proof-of-concept demonstrators for our developed solutions, so implementation is part of the research work. The work will require extensive cooperation with different Ericsson units, as well as with external partners, universities and customers.

Competence

We are looking for person with a PhD degree, e.g. in computer science, and at least 2-3 years’ additional experience in software and/or security research. The person is required to work well both independently and as part of a team, have a strong drive, very good collaboration and communication skills, a talent for innovation, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good knowledge of and experience from software development, different aspects of programming languages, code analysis as well as general knowledge of security, is a requirement. The job also requires understanding of at least some of the areas of operating systems security, virtualization environments, and formal analysis of software. In general, hands-on experience on top of theoretical skills is particularly valued.

The candidate must be able to communicate well in English, both in written and oral form.
