Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager – Northern and Central Europe

 

Job Summary:

 

We are now looking for a Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager to strengthen Ericsson’s competitive position by maximizing supplier value, proactively managing business risks and contributing to the creation of value for Ericsson’s Customer. 

 

This is a complex dual role where you will be the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Ericsson’s Customer Units Northern and Central Europe with end to end responsibility for the Site Products and Logistics Services spend and the Category Manager across Europe and Latin America for a specific sub-category.

 

The Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager reports into the Head of Site Products and Logistics Sourcing for Europe and Latin America.

 

In this role you will be working with the other Sourcing and Category Managers within the Site Products and Logistics Sourcing for Europe and Latin America, with the CU Northern and Central Europe Sourcing team and with the Global Category Teams.

 

The Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is responsible for all commercial and contractual relationship with suppliers within the Site Products and Logistics Services spend area for the assigned Customer Units and Sub-Categories.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading, preparing & executing the RFx process, including the use of eAuction
  • Evaluating and selecting suppliers together with business stakeholders
  • Conducting supplier and contract negotiation
  • Ensuring supplier agreement implementation
  • Contributing to margin improvement and profitability through the delivery of cost savings
  • Supporting and implementing low cost suppliers
  • Identifying alternative solutions which will deliver cost savings
  • Creating and implementing a Customer Unit Attack Plan for assigned Customer Units, to deliver margin improvement in post-sales projects
  • Creating and implementing a sub-category strategy for Europe and Latin America, in line with the global category strategy but taking into account geographical and project specific requirements
  • Negotiating bundled requirements for Site Products on behalf of the whole of Europe and Latin America Market Area

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or in Business or in Supply Chain Management

 

Languages:

  • English essential, other European language welcome

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of sourcing / purchasing experience (buying products experience would be a plus)
  • Strong negotiation experience
  • Knowledge in the telecom product market would be a plus
