Sr Engineering Manager – Productivity Engineering i Stockholm

As the leader of Productivity Engineering, you must be passionate about production operations, systems engineering, and building new infrastructure that will empower all Spotify employees. From onboarding through their journey as part of Spotify, Productivity Engineering will focus on improving the employee lifecycle, finding opportunities to automate and integrate systems. As part of the IT Alliance, Productivity Engineering will collaborate with the IT Support team, ensuring the tools and services needed for support are operational and continually evolving in ways to optimize support and employee productivity. The team will also be managing the enterprise tools required to secure employees, their access to applications and the the mobile fleet of devices and digital workspaces.Your team will create key partnerships with Security on Identity and Access Management and be responsible for managing the enterprise  tools required to secure employees and their access to applications.

Productivity Engineering’s charter is also to squeeze the maximum out of the collaborative technology stacks through optimization and finding creative ways to use the technology to enhance productivity and efficiencies throughout Spotify.  As new technologies emerge and impact our systems, Productivity Engineering will be expected to learn these technologies quickly while resolving issues involved in integrating new technologies within our existing operations.

We’re searching for someone to lead our New York- and Stockholm-based teams and group of existing engineering managers.

To be successful, you have experience in the following areas:

• Motivation – You are someone who has a deep appreciation for the role that automation can play at a company like Spotify, and you can share this passion to motivate the team and the wider organisation.

• Technical Leadership – You are someone who loves to inspire engineering teams and build partnerships with many stakeholders. You are comfortable with automation and prefer cloud-native technologies and tools. You have experience with applications focused on collaboration and are comfortable with identity and access management. You have experience building both systems and processes at scale.

• People Leadership – You’ve got a track record on the people side, building and leading engineering teams in an agile environment. We value a strong culture (collaborative, innovative, passionate, sincere and playful) and so should you. You are able to foster and grow people and teams. Developing leadership and building great managers is second nature to you. Ideally, you have been through hyper growth, and have experience with leading large teams and other managers.

You will be responsible for leading a fast-growing engineering organization, working a mission central to Spotify’s success. As part of the IT Alliance you will partner with IT Support  (responsible for global front line employee support) and work closely with security, finance, business, and product teams to deliver systems, software and projects that help Spotify achieve its goals, and ultimately guide the future of music.
