Why work with me? Some words from recruiting manager Michael Blix

My work values are what drives me as a leader – I believe that I get results through my team members and others in the organization. Thus I need to set clear goals, delegate appropriately, follow-up and clear blockages if required, take and give feedback to improve performance - thus building my team members to ultimately make me redundant as a leader. When I do that, we as a team start working well and coming to work is something we look forward to every day.

My strength primarily is my ability to be curious – I can use that to paint a vision of the future, communicate it passionately or dive down to examine code. I mostly do the foremost, and not the code inspection, though it has happened on occasion. Secondly, and equally important, I am a very trusting person – so if I delegate I do so fully and trust my team to perform and raise any issues, I will trust that "radio silence" means the job is being done. This means my team has a blank canvas to paint from, but it also means great degrees of freedom that needs to be carefully managed.
