Do you want to work in a highly dynamic and changing industry going through rapid digitalisation, applying your skills as an architect – designing the future insurance business?
The industry is going through major digitalization and disruption and as such, as a business, we need to constantly revise our business and technology for fit-for-purpose & future proof.
The ideal Enterprise Architect (EA) has the ability to create designs iteratively in sync with stakeholders and work to realise it through collaborative approach with colleagues and partners.
Primarily our EAs work as a team, covering various areas in a flexible style. Currently, we need to strengthen with experience and background from the Finance & Data domains as this area is undergoing some major changes in the next few coming years driven by new customer demands and requirements on data quality, machine learning and process optimization. Some of the technologies we are looking to implement are Big Data, Event-driven architectures using Hadoop, NiFi, Spark, Kafka and other open source components.
The EAs are working for the Chief Technology Officer across the three Nordic countries, forming a high energy, high intellect, forward looking team that advises the business in its transformative journey. Our key stakeholders include the uppermost executive top management within RSA Scandinavia as well as engineers in the datacenter and everyone inbetween.
Your profile and knowledge:
When others describe you, they are likely to use most of the below personal characteristics:
On your CV, we would expect to find:
Your background likely contains experience from several areas, such as project management, consulting, business analysis and perhaps development – showing a breadth of ability and understanding of different disciplines. Thus, you have an ability to raise your eyes and look outside your area of responsibility, ensuring that the organization does not just do things right - but also do the right things.
The role will require intra-Nordic travel – likely around one day a week.
Why work with me? Some words from recruiting manager Michael Blix
My work values are what drives me as a leader – I believe that I get results through my team members and others in the organization. Thus I need to set clear goals, delegate appropriately, follow-up and clear blockages if required, take and give feedback to improve performance - thus building my team members to ultimately make me redundant as a leader. When I do that, we as a team start working well and coming to work is something we look forward to every day.
My strength primarily is my ability to be curious – I can use that to paint a vision of the future, communicate it passionately or dive down to examine code. I mostly do the foremost, and not the code inspection, though it has happened on occasion. Secondly, and equally important, I am a very trusting person – so if I delegate I do so fully and trust my team to perform and raise any issues, I will trust that "radio silence" means the job is being done. This means my team has a blank canvas to paint from, but it also means great degrees of freedom that needs to be carefully managed.
