Cost Engineer i Sodertalje

Scania Purchasing buys products and services for all of Scania’s units worldwide. Our global purchasing organisation is based in Södertälje, Sweden, and has around 800 employees around the world.

Strategic Cost Engineering has a vital role in supporting the organization with expertise in production processes and performs calculations for products, production tools and development costs. 

Your duties
As a Cost Engineer, you will ensure the right cost level for new and existing products and will take an active role in the supplier selection process. In cooperation with our purchasers, you will work operatively and produce bottom up cost calculations prior to price negotiations. In addition to purchasing, you will also cooperate with the relevant design departments and colleagues within the VW Group.

You will be part of a team with extensive experience and short decision paths. 

Your profile
We are looking for a cost engineer. Alternatively, you have worked in a similar role with good match of technical and commercial skills paired with experience from production process planning or production engineering. To be successful in the role you need to have good knowledge of various manufacturing processes and have a deep interest and sense for what drives cost.

Experience from areas such as electronics, machining or casting is a merit.

You should be enthusiastic, outgoing and willing to take initiative. An awareness of service and a good communicative ability are important, as you will need to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts, both internally and externally. The role involves a large international network and some travel, so proficiency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
