RAN Incubator (RAN-I)

The new organization RAN Incubator has been recently created which is based in the Product Development Unit (PDU) 4G5G in Business Unit Networks. Our target is to work close to our customers, incubate new ideas, collaborate, and further accelerate product development.
Here we work self-contained as one organization end-to-end from study/ pre-dev until first actual product.  We challenge established flows with new methodologies and are active in open source communities.

Our organization is forming now, and we strive to strengthen it with skilled persons with various experiences. Therefore, we are searching for people who want to join us on our journey and are eager to create something new and exciting.

The first mission is to provide a VRAN 2.0 / vBBU solution on a standard server / cloud infrastructure as a well as driving the management and orchestration through ONAP into the 5G future.

What is important in this position?

The setup and responsibility of the RAN-I organization implies that the roles will be cross functional, i.e. you will not only work with systemization, implementation or verification but rather slide between the different tasks depending on the needs.
As contributors to open source we will have to implement, test and document committed functionality. We will be a small group of people that will do it all and if we don’t do it, no one else will do it for us. This means that your personal qualities are important for us and we believe that you are productive, creative and interact easy with other people. You must be comfortable to work with unspecified roles and changing requirements. In addition, you can plan and drive your own work to reach common goals together with your team.
Furthermore, you have a can-do attitude with a positive mindset and always strive to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.
