At SEED you will work in diverse and flexible cross-functional teams where you will be the expert on the webby parts. You might build anything from online 3D asset browsers, deep learning visualization tools, and documentation UIs to systems for asset caching and authorization.
We expect you to act as a seed for web knowledge in the whole organization, and to grow and nurture the web development community within SEED.

You understand the modern web stack – both the front-end and the back-end. You are good at communicating, self-motivated, and prepared to work on a wide range of projects, doing everything from planning and architecture to bug-fixing and maintenance. At SEED we have a lot of expertise in real-time rendering and machine learning, so we hope you’ll be excited to learn about those fields. You will also have to be prepared to guide your artist, deep learning and graphics collaborators to the right decisions when it comes to the web.

• Some kind of front-end: Basic skills like Html, Css, Javascript/Typescript. Probably some experience with popular frameworks like React, Angular, Elm, Vue, Reason or Om. Perhaps even some visualization libraries, like d3.js or Highcharts.
• Some kind of back-end: We currently use Node, Python, Rust, Go, and .Net for various things, but if your previous back-end work was in some other language that’s great. You should probably have some database skills, such as SQL, Mongo, BigTable. Maybe some other interesting modern web architecture tech, such as Kafka, Redis, 0MQ, GraphQL, or Docker? If you feel comfortable with words like microservices, kubernetes, and containerization we’d be delighted!
• A desire to learn: SEED’s needs are diverse and shifting, and we want to hire for the long term. No matter what you know when you start, if you join us you will have to learn lots of new skills. The most important skill you can have is therefore an ability and desire to learn new things. Given that, everything else we can probably figure out together!
