ABB Digital Operations is now looking for a Front End Developer with UX skills, who could help us to take a lead in the Swedish market. You will be part of the User Experience team at Corporate Research in Västerås. We are the largest ABB research center with over 200 employees. The research center has principal responsibility for research and development in automation technology and shared responsibility for power technologies.

As a part of an agile team, one of your main challenges will be developing user centered GUI solutions. You will participate in user studies and tests, design new solutions by developing “Proof of Concept” and “Rapid Prototyping” and build efficient and scalable solutions from a front-end perspective. In this role you should be able to understand and collaborate with the Back-End Designer. You are working close to business and impact the customers in a very direct way. The role includes some travelling within Sweden - you will have the opportunity to work with inspiring projects and customers in different parts of the country.

We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer with several years of “hands on” experience from both usability, design and developing enterprise platforms aswell as solutions. The role requires understanding the users, creating and validating concepts and taking them from prototype-phase and minimum-viable product to full scale front-end solution implementation. As a foundation, you hold a Masters’ degree in Interaction Design, Computer Science or similar. You are experienced in web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP or similar. It’s a plus that you have experience in constructing reports and dashboard in MS PowerBI, have basic visual design skills and are familiar with wireframing and rapid prototyping. The position requires that you can convert user studies, user evaluations and usability requirements into concepts and have good understanding of back-end, as well as business needs. Since you will be working in a global, multicultural environment, in addition to Swedish, we expect you to be fluent in English as well, written and spoken alike. On the personal level, you are driven, structured and creative. You are a person with a strong customer focus and your communicative and collaborative skills help you build trust for long term business relationships. Moreover, you are open-minded and contribute with positive and proactive mindset, as well as with the ability to create a good atmosphere.
