Health & Safety Specialist for System Integration unit i Västerås

You will be part of the Power Grids division, which is the world's leading supplier of power and automation products, systems and service solutions for the entire value chain from power generation to the transmission and distribution of electricity. Our offer spans transformers, HV products, systems for power transmission and solutions and automation for integration and interconnecting power grids – to enable a stronger, smarter and greener grid. The Power Grids Grid Integration (PGGI) business unit supplies stations, systems solutions and service for transmission and distribution facilities. Customers are power companies, industry and other companies that need to be connected to power networks. The market is driven by the need to create stable power networks and by environment reasons with the aim of increasing the use of renewable energy. Our environment offer also includes connecting ships to power networks to replace diesel operation in ports. We design and build indoor and outdoor stations that are both reliable and dependable.

Uppgifter :

In this role you will be responsible for executing on the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities within the local business unit System Integration. You will work in close collaboration with Managers, Project Managers, and Site Managers to develop and maintain an excellent HSE standard and performance for the unit. You will also work in close collaboration with other HSE Specialists within, or affiliated with, the business unit.

You will be tasked to develop HSE plans, to implement proper HSE behavior and to monitor HSE performance in our projects, including statistics and reports within the HSE area. Furthermore, you will be responsible for reports and investigations of HSE incidents, including feedback on lessons learnt and best practice from own unit and across ABB to management and employees.

In addition, you will perform HSE risk assessments, site safety assessments and HSE audits.

You will drive behavioral change by supporting implementation of group-wide performance improvement programs and practices to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on environment throughout the organization.

Furthermore, you will promote and ensure health and safety of employees; assist line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfill their roles.

Krav:

To succeed in this role, it is crucial that you have previous experience or are currently working with HSE, perhaps in the building and construction sector, whereas experience from the power industry is a merit. It is a plus if you hold a Bachelor degree or similar in Engineering. We also value profound understanding of the actual business, maybe in the form of hands-on experience from HSE work on Swedish project sites.

You are a flexible, pragmatic and diplomatic professional. You are proactive, look for opportunities and take responsibility for the projects you run. You have excellent communication and collaboration skills and are able to successfully persuade and influence colleagues on different levels. Furthermore, you must be proficient in Swedish and English, written and spoken alike.
