H&M is one of the world’s largest fashion companies. We are today present on all continents and will continue to grow and strengthen our store portfolio.
 
The Construction department manages several hundred store projects every year, responsible for a large part of the H&M Group’s investments. The Construction department is part of the Expansion team, which is responsible for all aspects of creating our H&M stores, i.e., to lease, design, draw, buy, build and maintain each store. It is a multi-brand department and covers H&M, COS, &Other Stories, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, Arket, Afound H&M Home and It’s Pleat.
 
The global construction team in Stockholm consists of 12 people who cover project management related, strategic and managerial topics for all countries. We are now looking for a new top performer to this strong team to replace our Global Construction Controller during maternity leave for 1 year with possibility to extend.
 
About the Position
 
The purpose of the Global Construction Controller is to ensure a global expansion to a business sane and strategically aligned investment, managed in a predictable and balanced manner. The role’s main areas are: 
  • Functional responsibility for a team of 26 local construction controllers (setting frames and global expectations, manage global controlling instructions, share best practices, develop and support the team members, arrange trainings and monitor talents etc.)
  • Staff responsibility for 1 global Business Controller
  • Being the right hand to the Global Head of Construction (setting and driving global goals, department strategy, quarterly presentations, cross-department financial alignment etc.)
  • Department budget controlling for the global team (budget setting and follow-up, support and review investment business cases, cost control and invoice approval)
  • Full ownership of Construction Business Intelligence (BI strategy and implementation, tool and template landscape, global business representative in IT projects, system super user etc.)
  • Guide and support to the global construction team (ways-of-working, processes/routines, analyses, tools/templates, department PMO, prioritizations etc.)
You will play a key role in financial, operational and strategic steering, managed through a mix of controlling, formal and informal leadership, analysis and change management. The topics will range from specific, e.g. preparing status presentations, developing global reports and updating instructions, to holistic, e.g. realizing global strategy, strengthening multi-national collaboration and ensuring a business sense driven culture.

To succeed in this position, you probably already have: 
  • A degree in business and/or engineering and 4-6 years of experience within business controlling, project controlling, strategy implementation or correspondent.
  • Very strong analytical skills, ability to link details to the holistic picture
  • Genuine interest in data management, preferably prior experience with BI solutions
  • A clear way of communicating findings in a simple, straightforward way
  • Ability to understand and improve ways of working, preferably experience from process analysis
  • A natural drive to achieve results and take own initiatives
  • Fluency in English and advanced knowledge in the Office Package
