TCMS Engineer to ABB i Västerås

You will be part of ABB’s Robotics and Motion division in Västerås. The division provides products, solutions and service that increase productivity and energy efficiency as well as increased collaboration and digitalization in the factory of the future. Motors, generators, drives and robotics provide power, motion and control for a wide range of automation applications. In this role you will be part of ABB in Västerås working in the team responsible for the X2000 upgrade project.

As one of our TCMS (Train Control and Monitoring System) Engineers your main challenge will be to establish a strong on site TCMS engineering support during commissioning, testing and homologation and warranty phase. Your responsibilities will involve investigating issues on train, analyzing and interpreting resulting data and providing reports on the TCMS. In addition, you will coordinate with system engineering, vehicle engineering and TCMS team for implementation of design changes and bug reporting. You will have a close collaboration with our colleagues and subcontractor based in Europe.

As you will cooperate with many different partners and colleagues, you will not only get a broad network, but also the opportunity to take part in the entire process– from planning and execution of the design to production and support of operation. This gives you great opportunities to both broaden your skills and deepen your knowledge.

As a foundation, you hold a Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience. In addition, you have several years of professional experience in TCMS and at least basic railway vehicle knowledge. We expect you to be fluent in IEC61131 programming language whereas basic knowledge of C/C++ is an advantage. On a personal level, you have a strong drive and great planning and organizational skills, and you always reach results. With your sound judgment and analytical mindset, you proactively propose solutions. Last, but not least, you are a natural team player with great communication skills and you thrive when working cross-functionally.
