The H&M Group is a global leading fashion retailer operating over 4900 stores in 71 markets with 8 brands (H&M, COS, Monki, Weekday, Arket, H&M Home, Afound and & Other Stories).
 
The Global Construction department is responsible for the construction process and project management of our store projects, from initial project preparation, planning and execution through to the store opening. The Global Construction department is a multi-brand department covering all brands in the H&M Group and manages several hundred store projects every year, accounting for a big part of the group’s investments. This covers new stores as well as re-building of existing stores.
 
Global Construction is part of the Global Expansion department, which is responsible for all current and future stores world-wide and is handling all aspects of creating our stores, i.e., to lease, design, draw, buy, build and maintain each store.
 
We are now looking to further strengthen our team by adding a top performing Regional Construction Manager to our team.
 
As a Regional Construction Manager, you are reporting to the Head of Global Construction and are responsible for a group of countries.
  • You play a key role within the team and will manage topics from specific e.g. financial and operational follow-up of your countries, data analysis and follow-up on action plans – to holistic e.g. run global initiatives/projects, driving cross-functional improvements;
  • You will have daily contact with central functions and work closely with our country teams to optimize store projects from a cost, time, quality, compliance and sustainability perspective;
  • You support country teams in delivering the expansion plan and in reaching agreed KPI’s;
  • You execute internal audits to identify improvement opportunities, suggest next steps and follow-up on set actions;
  • You have a close dialogue with the country teams and secure that needed resources, tools and routines are in place
  • You follow up on procurement strategies and provide guidance related to planning and execution of projects
  • You give input to and develop instructions, educational materials, tools & systems
     
    In this role you will cover strategic and managerial topics and will work in an international and demanding environment. 
     
     
    To succeed in this position, you probably already have:
  • A degree in engineering (or business), fluency in English and at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Ideally you have a background in procurement/sourcing with specialty in construction/real estate or retail/other consumer businesses;
  • Experience in strategic procurement, contract management and a good legal understanding/expertise
  • Track record of strategy implementation and the capacity to link details to the holistic picture
  • Leadership skills and experience in achieving results, both through own responsibilities and by leading others
  • Experience from working in a high-paced, international environment and strong interpersonal and communication skills
