The service area Business Intelligence at H&M IT provides our internal customers with different business intelligence capabilities, such as reporting and analytics.Today H&M has very limited capabilities for exploratory analytics. This project/maintenance area will lay the foundation for a new way of this type of
analytics.Data needs to be more available to a central analytical group. Furthermore,we need to provide a modern toolbox for business to analyze,
enrich and consume the information.
As a Junior Data Engineer within Exploratory Analytics you will work together with our existing data warehouses and to some extend their customers. Your task, together with the team, is to continue to build the exploratory analytics platform and enable business to smarter and faster insights. The ExA team is
fairly small, so you will get a lot of chances to learn and develop within the area as we work as a team and in a knowledge sharing way.
We are using the latest development tools within Azure (Data Factory V2, Azure DataWarehouse, DataBricks, R, Python). It is therefore essential that you are interested in learning new things. Furthermore, since we are pushing the
boundaries, we are also setting the standard of working with new tools.
The job of a Junior Data Engineer at H&M comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun.
You will work within a small agile team and your main areas of responsibilities will be:
Development of new components and integrations.
Maintenance of existing components.
Define new ways of working with the latest tools
Your to do-list includes:
Development and maintenance of ETL/ELT processes
Development, Unit- and Integration test
Collaborate with the development teams for source systems to provide data in best manner and best-practice
Assist in solving Azure related technical matters in co-operation with BI Operations and other stake-holders

Experience and knowledge of Agile methods
