Project Manager to Vattenfall Wind Power onshore

We are now looking for a Project Manager to our Head quarter in Solna.
Within Vattenfall we have the clear goal to enable a fossil free society within one generation. This ambition includes for example electrification of the transport sector and CO2-emitting industries, but the core in this ambition is to have sustainable electricity production. Vattenfall is now ramping up its growth within renewables, making the fleet fossil free.
Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well Solar PV and Batteries. Today we develop, construct and operate onshore and offshore wind power in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK and we are a leading player in several of our markets.
The Project Manager is recruited into BU Onshore Wind and will be working in Onshore Wind projects during the procurement and construction phases of projects. The role sits within the Construction Management team in the Project Delivery department.
During the procurement phase, the Project Manager will support the procurement process and the Development Manager in reaching FID. The role will be to ensure that the main construction phase contracts (i.e. wind turbine package, civil works package and grid works package) are secured and to a sufficient standard to enable seamless execution of the project during the construction phase. This includes responsibility for the design and construction interface between the main contracts.
During the construction phase, the Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a successfully constructed and efficiently operating wind farm project to FID determined budget, timescales and quality standards.
Responsibilities:

• Manage the budget
• Identify and Minimise risks
• Obtain the necessary resource to secure the contracts
• Obtain the necessary resource to deliver the projects in accordance with the project goals
Work Tasks:
• Ensuring the main construction related contracts are secured
• Ensuring the main construction related contracts interface seamlessly
• Preparation, finalisation, updating and communication of the Project Execution Plan
• Defining the primary objectives (goals) and supporting objectives
• Establishing the project team
• Organising the communication methods both for internal and external stakeholders
• Producing the project schedule and monitoring progress
• Monitoring costs and budget
• Monitoring quality performance
• Establish and adhere to the project success criteria
• Identify and establish the factors and activities required to meet the project success criteria
Competence & Experience required for the position:
You possess a university degree in science, engineering or other relevant university degree.
If you do not possess a degree then suitable alternative experiences and qualifications should be demonstrated.
• Project management experience in large complex projects
• Procurement experience with industry standard construction contracts (e.g. FIDIC)
• Experience in using industry standard construction contract during project execution phase
• Good communicator
• Strong sense of integrity who dares to challenge (in a positive way) colleagues to achieve the common goals for the project
• Structured, accurate and efficient way of working
• Good analytical understanding and able to digest and structure complex issues
• Performance oriented and proactive
• Experience working in the wind farm industry
• Command of the English language is strong, both verbally and written
• Command of the Swedish language is strong, both verbally and written
• Ability to simultaneously manage several tasks to often challenging deadlines
• Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and, MS PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills and an ability influence and lead others
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and frequent changes in priorities
• Able to work in a team and build up strong relationships
Desirable
• Experience in large-scale / complex construction projects (e.g. energy, infrastructure)
• Experience of working in the wind farm industry
• Experience of working cross-culturally and across global locations
• Good commercial acumen and sound financial understanding
• Practical qualifications of a professional standard in science or engineering
• Project Management qualifications are desirable
