Kockums, a business area within Saab, provides design, construction and in-service support for advanced naval systems such as surface combatants and submarines to the Swedish Armed Forces and other customers worldwide. Our product portfolio consist of the air-independent Stirling system, mine countermeasure systems and submarine rescue systems amongst other. Kockums operate in Karlskrona, Malmö, Muskö, Järfälla and Singapore.

We are looking for a mechanical engineer to strengthen the section in areas such as rescue systems, energy systems and fire safety systems.

The section consists of about 25 employees and consultants in both Malmö and Karlskrona. Our work is conducted in smaller teams with engaged and competent people who are looking forward to welcome you in the community and into the technology.

At the department Mechanical Systems, Power Conversion and Safety, we obtain and develop mechanical systems for both surface vessels and submarines. The biggest challenge for us is the new development of the submarine A26, but we also work with other products such as further development and maintenance of existing submarines and multiple surface vessels as well as research projects. We have many contact areas and cooperate with other internal subsystems and disciplines as well as with international subcontractors.

You will be to be responsible for the system throughout the product development process. Parts of the work will be in new development projects and some parts will be in life-cycle sustaining projects. You will work with system requirements and specifications and develop system solution and are also responsible for the technical part of procurement of subcontractor systems and subcontractors. At the end of the project the focus is on verifying and deploying the system. The role also include internal and external presentations of our systems.

We are looking for you who are outgoing with a good ability and willingness to collaborate with others and enjoy building lasting relationships and networks. You are prestigeless with a good ability to take own initiatives and independently structure and drive your work. Experience in developing larger systems and incorporating components of various kinds, is a merit.
Appropriate background is an engineer in mechanics, energy, marine or equivalent. Proficiency in Swedish and English is a requirement. Diving licence is a merit.
