ResponsibilityOur team is now looking for a Category Manager for AkzoNobel’s franchise chain Nordsjö Idé & Design in Sweden. We work in an informal atmosphere based on diverse cultures, backgrounds and experience. We work as a team and aim to help each other to achieve our targets.
Your main responsibility as a Category Manager is to work as an internal as well as external stakeholder. This is a role that requires a strategic mindset as well as a will to work on an operative level when required.
As a Category Manager, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Own all aspect of category management requirements for Nordsjö Idé & Design in Sweden.
- Manage and develop the designated categories to ensure that customer needs are met to deliver category sales and margin targets whilst considering all other commercial requirements and constraints
- Own the annual Category plan including proactive management of kicker fees planning and collection as well as budget impact
- Be an owner of all customer and internal category communication for Nordsjö Idé & Design Sweden
- Ensure that supplier relation is managed to the highest level
- Ensure flawless execution of vendor transactions in accordance with annual plan and budget
- Be a proactive partner to increase profitability for customers and AkzoNobel and increase Nordsjö Idé & Designs competitive position in the market place by developing new offerings as well as category optimization
Your main duties will be to:
- Be responsible for conducting a professional sourcing and negotiation process for a specific category in accordance to the requirements of the internal stakeholders, meeting business needs and ensuring security of supply for the Nordsjö Idé & Design offering and members.
- Work closely with AkzoNobel category team to identify and develop any opportunities and ensuring planograms work to achieve the optimal value and ease of shop.
- Develop an annual product promotion program, working with marketing to ensure a good mix of customer offers as per strategy.
- Be responsible to negotiate, manage and follow up on bonus from suppliers.
- Be responsible for the full year campaign offers including campaign documentation for all customers.
- Experienced procurement or category management professional with a broad understanding of a retail or trade environment
- Previous experience at a buyer level in retail or other significant supplier management experience
- Interpersonal and influencing skills with multiple stakeholders with different interests in a complex environment
- Ability to drive and steer multiple projects at the same time, ensuring a focus on business priorities
- Effective and experienced negotiator
- Fluent in English

- Degree qualified or equivalent in procurement, supply chain or commercial area
- Demonstrated performance in a business, retail or marketing environment is an advantage, as is a detailed knowledge and understanding of the stores business and product offering
As a person you have Business and key financial understanding and a strong result orientation drive. You have the ability to keep a business focus while driving multiple projects simultaneously. You have exceptional communication and presentation skills in both English and a Nordic language.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to Franchise leader. The position is placed on our site in Sege, Malmö. Your application can be sent both in Swedish or English.
