The role
As a Lead Data Scientist at H&MxAI, your mission is to manage and coordinate the data science cohort through mentoring and hands-on efforts, while providing input on the overall direction of the H&M AI efforts in the AI leadership team. In addition, you will be in charge of building the data science cohort and shaping the rapidly growing advanced analytics team. What you will do
- You will lead the data science cohort through hiring, coaching, mentoring, career development and, when needed, hands-on data science
- You will provide technical mentorship in machine learning and AI, and lead the data scientists in how to best design and build advanced analytics models, such as optimization-, forecasting- or personalization models. In addition, you will draw and build upon best practices throughout the organization
- You will be the ‘go-to’ person for data science and represent the data science perspective with a position on the AI leadership team. Thus, you are responsible for listening to business needs and making strategic recommendations around data solutions, with the long-term goal of building advanced analytics within H&M globally
- Your role will include keeping your finger on the pulse of emerging technologies, and assess their relevance to H&M and our developers and partake in and discuss the architecture/technical decisions made in the team
Who you are
- You have 8+ years of experience in a data science environments within an AI organization, with responsibility and leadership over comprehensive tasks and teams
- Have a MSc, PhD or other Advanced Degree in a field linked to computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or related data centric areas
- Experience in giving hands-on leadership, whether formally or informally (e.g., mentoring), to individuals developing predictive and/or optimizing algorithms and models
- You are experienced in using statistical, algorithmic and visualization techniques to address complex business problems, with strong records of personal accomplishments
- You understand and are familiar with the details of the full advanced analytics value chain, from proof-of-concept to industrialized and scalable models
- You care about and have deep insights into agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and disciplined experimentation
- You thrive when developing great people, not just great products
