Vattenfall is looking for the right person to fill the position as Senior Biologist with orientation towards fish and river ecosystems. You will be a part of Section Fluid Mechanics at R&D within Vattenfall Strategic Development with location in Älvkarleby.

Your main tasks and responsibilities
As Senior Biologist you will have the following key responsibilities:
• Perform laboratory tests and experiments with fish, mainly with the application to fish migration in rivers
• Field measurements and inspections, e.g. inspections of passage solutions for fish
• Population modelling and cost/benefit analysis
• Assessing environmental measures and finding cost efficient solutions
• Support hydro power projects with biological expertise
Your profile and personal skills
To be successful in this position you must:
• Have a Master in biology, or equal experience, preferably with orientation towards fish and river ecosystems.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
Our preferred candidate also have:
• Experience of fresh water fish behavior and migration
• Experience with designing and conducting field and/or laboratory experiments and investigations with fish
• Experience of population modelling
• Knowledge of hydro power
Established network within hydro power: e.g. business, universities or authorities, as well as a good command of Swedish will be considered as merits.
Others recognize you as a positive person with good communication and problem solving skills. You are further more described as a person that see what needs be done, and then make it happen. You truly believe, even as an expert in your own field, that better results are achieved multidisciplinary and in cooperation with others. You see every opportunity to connect and work with different stakeholders as a part of your own development.
Location: Älvkarleby.
Some travelling to relevant sites will occur.
