Global Industrial Development is responsible for consolidation and development of Scania’s joint competence within industrial engineering, as well as development and coordination of related IT-systems. We also coordinate Scania Production activities within TRATON (former VW Truck & Bus Holding).
Global industrial Engineering, within Global Industrial Development, has the mission to strengthen and develop Scania’s competences within Production Engineering. It consists into three different sub-groups (Assembly, Machining and Production Systems) whose setup includes Engineering Experts and a group manager each. As today’s manager is taking another responsibilities within Scania, we are now recruiting his successor.
You will report to the head of Global Industrial Development (and be a member of the management team. Along with, you will be responsible for three group managers and around 20 experienced engineering experts.
Your working area
Your main task is to deliver strategies for Industrial Engineering`s Core Competences Areas and development aimed for today and for the future. Examples of areas are: Tightening Techniques, Cutting Technologies, Process Safety, Sustainable Production, Welding etc. Always certify that we are working with the right competences areas and ensure the right resources to tackle the mission/strategy towards the execution of the activities/deliveries to Production & Logistics in form of education, standards, common methods, daily support with problem solving etc.

Your profile
In order to succeed in this work, you need to have several years of second line managerial experience, preferable from Scania production. Experience from both production line organization and Engineering support is an advantage. You also have experience of managing teams of people who works with different technical areas and with different profiles at the same time, hence diversity mindset is the key to be successful in this position.
You probably have several years of experience from global production units within truck manufacturing, lean production and industrial engineering. Experience from at least 2 different countries, preferable South America and Europe is merited.
Good negotiation and communication skills are mandatory and, not less important, as the action field is global, you need also to tackle with different cultures. Good language skills in Swedish and English is mandatory. Portuguese is not a demand but preferred.
