IFPA is a global federation of more than 55 national and regional psoriasis patient associations. IFPA is a democratic organization governed by the General Assembly of its member associations, and its operations are overseen by an appointed Board made up of seven elected representatives. IFPA's Secretariat is based in Bromma, Sweden, a part of Stockholm, and includes seven staff members.

IFPA's goals are to empower its members, improve living conditions for patients, raise awareness of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and cooperate with fellow stakeholders. IFPA holds Special Consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and actively advocates for the global psoriasis community within the WHO system and towards its member states. IFPA is also the proud organizer of the World Psoriasis & Psoriatic Arthritis Conference which is held every third year since 2006. In order to fulfill our obligation to educate the public, our members and fellow stakeholders, we are now seeking a Scientific Officer to assist us in this endeavor.

MAIN TASKS

As IFPA's Scientific Officer, you will be responsible for all scientific/medical information on psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis in all IFPA's communication channels (website, newsletters, social media etc) and will provide correct and up-to-date information to IFPA's member organizations, to policy makers, other stakeholders and the general public.

You will have an important role in developing training offered to IFPA's members on psoriasis & psoriatic arthritis through member meetings, webinars and other platforms. You will be supporting the planning and organizing of the IFPA World Psoriasis & Psoriatic Arthritis Conference, to be held next in the summer of 2021 in Stockholm. You will contribute to building IFPA's knowledge resources with updated scientific information, participate in international events like scientific conferences, coordinate with external stakeholders, and participate in advisory groups on behalf of IFPA.

You will also provide the IFPA Board and colleagues at the IFPA Secretariat with current information on developments within the fields of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and be tasked with designing IFPA's strategies pertaining to health care policy, treatment guidelines and research and development issues.

The IFPA Secretariat is a relatively small staff team, which works closely together. Your work scope can also include other tasks to support other team members. This will include a strong communications component.
