Join and shape the nanocellulose revolution!
The nanocellulose market is set for considerable growth with high expectations on this new material in multiple applications ranging from cosmetics to composites. Based on top research performed at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, FineCell has developed new nanocellulose materials from forest resources. Our nanocellulose is produced through a cost-effective process where only renewable chemicals are used. Our patented technology enables us to substantially reduce the energy and water consumption, significantly increase the production yield, and obtain nanocellulose with new and unique features.
We develop and produce differentiated micro- and nanocellulose products helping manufacturers across multiple applications develop tomorrow’s products with enhanced performances and reduced carbon footprints. So far, market opportunities have been identified within segments such as lightweight composites, cosmetics, biotech/medical materials, and paints/surface coatings.
What have we accomplished
Verified customer interests in several market segments by more than 20 industrial leads with concrete interests in our products.
Currently pilot testing our products together with industrial players or in negotiations on partnership.
Secured over 5 MSEK in soft funding, e.g. from VINNOVA and private foundations.
Accepted by EIT InnoEnergy's acceleration program - a leading business accelerator with financial and business development supports.
Filed two patent families globally.
Initiated scaling up of own production to become a material supplier and started sales.
The journey ahead
Today we’re at a crucial stage in scaling our production, where we need an adaptable development engineer. We have potential customers requesting quantities, which we currently are not able to deliver, to fully evaluate our materials in their processes and products. The requests origin from multiple market segments and we see several market opportunities. To meet the demand we have initiated the work to build our first production unit (10 – 50 kg/day) outside a lab environment, and you will be a crucial asset in realizing this. Verifying and delivering our product in larger quantities is important both to verify applications and to facilitate customer and investor relations.
We’re looking for a candidate who can take assist in designing and building the production unit as well as take future responsibility for the technical development of the company.
What we offer
We offer an opportunity to join a start-up with competitive technology and plenty of market opportunities, where you can really make a difference and shape the direction that FineCell aims. Would you like to take part in this journey and shape yours and our future? We are seeking someone who wants to join a high aspiring startup with all the risks and rewards associated with it. We will offer you to become a co-owner of the company.

The level of involvement is depending on the tasks but we foresee the person is able to initially spend at least 50 % of full time on the project and be able to ramp this up to full time should this be necessary in the future.
Skills & Requirements
We are seeking an engineer with a broad understanding of technical processes and who sees solutions rather than limits. We expect you to be an entrepreneur being able to take the company to the next phase!
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist in planning and constructing the new manufacturing equipment.
Manufacturing micro- and nanocellulose
