Expansion and M&A Manager at O’Learys Trademark in Stockholm

O’Learys is on an exciting journey to become the number one eatertainment company in Europe combing food, drinks with sports and activities in social settings. We currently have approximately 130 venues across the world in own operations and together with franchisees. Backed by strong owners including Altor, we have an aggressive expansion plan and our ambition is to have more than 300 venues in 2025. We are now seeking a passionate, driven and structured Expansion and M&A Manager based in Stockholm to manage, drive and coordinate our global growth efforts!

This role will drive O’Learys' expansion reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and working closely with the company’s management team and other internal and external stakeholders. The overall ambition is to ensure a strong pipeline of new venues in great locations across Europe in various formats. We are both seeking M&A opportunities for venues that we own and run, as well as seeking joint venture partners and new venues together with franchisees and master franchisees. This is therefore a very important role for us with a large opportunity for professional development!

This is a hands-on role, working as a spider in the web with different growth opportunities in all parts of the growth process and together with many different people:

  • Lead, plan and coordinate all ongoing growth initiatives and ensure progress
  • Identify and ensure we reach out to new partners and manage incoming leads.
  • Analysis and assessments of different markets, locations and companies including coordination of due diligence processes
  • Planning and coordinating meetings, presentations and events and supporting with relevant materials for maximum impact in B2B marketing, meetings and presentations
  • Developing business cases and recommending terms
  • Driving or supporting negotiations, contract and pre-opening processes
  • Develop growth strategies and suggest prioritization of growth opportunities to the management team

The Expansion and M&A Manager role is therefore structured and analytical in nature, requiring coordination of different growth opportunities, to lead towards conclusions about the best course of action. The person we are seeking is also a doer, works fast, who likes to see the results and impact of the efforts we do and gets excited about signing new deals together with others! 

Desired experiences and skills:

  • Master’s or Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering or equivalent education.
  • At least 2 years’ experience from M&A, expansion, business development, management consulting, corporate finance, financial consulting or other similar experience.
  • Analytical skills and business mindset – curious to find out more about through research and data analysis. Is eager to understand the financial implications of different options and focus on what creates the best results
  • Social – enjoys being in contact with many different people and companies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented way of working
  • Structured – likes to keep things in order and has an eye for details!
  • Results driven – wants to make an impact!
  • Ensure focused efforts – good at prioritizing and recognizes that resources need to be allocated to the efforts that have the highest returns
  • Passion for working together with many stakeholders both colleagues, franchisees and external partners
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude and an ability to simplify and wants to deliver above expectations!
  • Fluency in Swedish and English and preferably also other languages
